![]() Exploring this area you will see vastly different scenery, from the bleak Salar de Uyuni and Salar de Coipasa (3786m), to the stunning and different coloured lakes found in the region. This is a very remote part of Bolivia, and very beautiful. There is also a great opportunity of seeing wildlife, including flamingos and vicuñas. This sightseeing tour can be used to acclimatize to the high altitude before attempting a trek or climbing a mountain.

Day 1: La Paz (3600m) – Uyuni (3669m) We will pick you up from your hotel and drive southeast of La Paz, initially heading up into El Alto and then across the Altiplano (4000m). We will pass through Oruro, Potosi and then to Uyuni. Day 2: Uyuni San Cristobal (4100m) Villa Mar (4050m) We start our day with our first stop at the train cemetery. We drive on to San Cristobal were they moved the church stone by stone to its new location to make room for the new mine. Next stop is Villa Lota were we have some lunch. After lunch we keep driving to reach Villa Mar. Here we can visit ancient rock art and old Inca tombs. 5 -7 hours of driving (BLD) Hostel Day 3: Villa Mar Salar de Chalviri Laguna Verde (4300m) Following more dusty roads we enter National park Eduardo Avaroa. We continue on to the Salar de Chalviri. At Polques we will make a stop for lunch and take a dip in the hot springs. After lunch we keep heading south to Laguna Verde. Here we see Volcan Licancabur (5960m) we will spend the night near the lake. 5 6 hour driving (BLD) Hostel (BLD) Refugio Day 4: Laguna Verde Laguna Colorada (4278m) - San Juan (3750m) Our drive today we pass lots of lakes with different colors and we can see a variety of wild life including Flamencos. Driving through the valleys of this arid area we can see rock formations with colors of reds, yellows and whites were we can see Arbol de Piedra. Along the way we see the growing of Quina, a native cereal grown in this region which is very high in protein. Near the village of San Juan we can make a visit of an old cemetery where mummies can be found laying in between the rocks. 5 7 hours of driving (BLD) Hostel Day 5: San Juan Salar de Uyuni (3656m) Jirira (3700m) Today has to be one of our most spectacular, were cross the Salar de Uyuni. Visiting Isla Incahuasi, were you can take a walk around the island. We will stop for lunch here, so theres plenty of time to take photos of this natural wonder. After lunch we continue onto the charming village of Jirira, at the base of Volcan Tunupa. Were we will stay with Senora Dona Lupe. 3 - 4 hours driving (BLD) Hostel Day 6: Jirira Salar de Coipasa (3657m) Oruro (3700m) We head out early for the long drive to Oruro. We will cross the salar de Uyuni and keep heading north passing through the Salar de Coipasa. Here we can see the people extracting the salt from the Salar. We will make more stops along the way, at the towns of Sabaya and other villages. Already from a long way we get our first views of Sajama mountain and the twins, Volcan Parinacota (6330m) and Volcan Pomerata (6222m). 7 9 hours driving (BLD) Hotel Day 7: Oruro – La Paz We have an easy days drive back to La Paz, after a morning free to explore Oruro. 3 hours of driving (BL) END of SERVICES
