Jeff first came to South America for climbing back in 1995. He fell in love with the place, the people and the culture. Since then he has made Bolivia his home. Climbing for many years now, beginning in Australia rock climbing and from there moving on to the mountains, first to New Zealand then Pakistan, Africa, Europe and South America. For Jeff it was a natural progression to move onto guiding. Jeff always shows enthusiasm and professionalism on his trips.

  » Eduardo Unzueta
Eduardo was introduced to rock climbing and mountaineering at a very young age, here in Bolivia. Climbing for more then 25 years has taken him to many places. He has climbed in Peru, Ecuador, Chile, Argentina and Europe. His love for the mountains gave him the desire to work as a mountain guide. To improve himself, he started his mountain guide courses. In 1995, he earned the certification of International Mountain Guide with UIAGM. One of the few guide in Bolivia to reach this level. Eduardo is easy going and always ready to give a hand. To communicate with Eduardo is easy, as he speaks English well.

 » Pedro Choque
Pedro has been actively working for Climbing South America for the last 5 years and the last 3 years has been learning the ropes of mountaineering. In the last 3 years Pedro has been on most of the 6,000 m peaks in Bolivia under the supervision of Jeff Sandifort while guiding clients. He has recently passed a mountain guiding course , in flying colours from the Mountain Guide Association of El Alto, La Paz to gain his certification of Aspiring Guide. Pedro is full of energy and is always laughing. There to lend a hand when you need it, clients love their trips with him. Pedro will be one of the strongest Bolivian climbers, and will be one of the leading guides here in the future.

 » Ricardo
Ricardo has been working for Climbing South America for seven years as lead guide or assistant guide while under the supervision of our more experienced guides. He has learned how to lead groups, cook and manage trips. Ricardo has done all the treks in the Cordillera Real several times, giving him the experience to lead his groups through the mountains or the jungle with confidence. Ricardo is polite, calm and easy to get along with, and never seems to run out of energy.

After a decade of work as a bike mechanic and guide, Travis first came to South America to work as an downhill mountain bike guide in La Paz. Later he moved on to open his own small mountain bike agency in the freeride wonderland of Sorata, Bolivia. Running his own trips and for Climbing South America he has explored the depths of this country, pioneering epic routes throughout the cordilleras, to find the best free riding trails in Bolivia. He has discovered new circuits, like the ‘Bike and Boat Trip,’ organized mountain bike races, and developed the ‘Paso Chuchu Freeride Funpark’. Travis knows the riding better than anyone and he’ll take you to his favourite places to ride. We would have to say that Travis is one of the best free ride mountain bikers in Bolivia and a lifelong devotee to mountain biking.
