Day 2: Laguna Chilate – Laguna Glaciar (5050m) – Laguna Chilate

An early start as this will be a long day. Following a small track ,we will climb over old moraine walls with Pico Shultz below. After climbing over rock slabs we will reach Laguna Glaciar. We have to go all the way to see Laguna Glaciar - the reward is worth it. We will be able to see Lake Titikaka (3810m) with Isla del Sol (3850m) and the summits of Ancohuma (6427m) and Illampu (6356m). After a rest and lunch we will head back to Laguna Chilate.
7 to 9 hours (BLD)

Day 3: Laguna Chilate – Laguna Illampu (4400m)

We will traverse across Nevado Illampu to the village of Lacateya, from where we will need to ascend uphill for about an hour before we reach Laguna Illampu. From the laguna we should also have spectacular views of the valley towards Sorata.
