Aconcagua is still officially the highest mountain in the Americas despite dispute over Ojos Del Salado in Chile. Being one of seven peaks and technically an easy climb, it gives climbers (including those lacking experience) an opportunity reach a summit of almost 7000 metres. Aconcagua also is the highest peak in the Western and southern hemispheres, as well as the highest outside of Asia.

As well as being one of the world’s great peaks, Aconagua occupies a fantastic location on the Argentina-Chile border. On the Argentine side is the beautiful city of Mendoza surrounded by some of the continents finest vineyards while on the Chilean side is the capital
